A focused online programme designed for active seafarers who already hold a valid BST certificate and need to update their competence to meet the new 2026 requirements introduced by MSC.560(108).

The Anti-Harassment (Gap Closing) course consists of four updated competence areas that reflect the 2026 global safety requirements for all seafarers.

📢 1. Contribute to Effective Communications On Board Ship

Objective: Strengthen clarity, accuracy and professionalism in shipboard communication.

• Using IMO Standard Marine Communication Phrases (SMCP)
• Effective teamwork communication and message confirmation
• Preventing misunderstandings in multi-national crews
• Bridge–engine–deck communication essentials

• Definition and recognition of bullying, harassment and SASH
• Understanding zero-tolerance shipboard policies
• Safe reporting mechanisms and supportive response
• Maintaining a safe environment free from intimidation or abuse

😴 4. Necessary Measures for Fatigue Management

Objective: Reduce fatigue-related risks and support well-being and safety performance.

• Understanding human performance limits and circadian rhythm
• Risk factors that increase fatigue onboard
• Workload management and safe rest hour practices
• Identifying warning signs and taking preventive measures
